About Emily
Emily’s passion for supporting others is truly inspiring. As a dedicated professional working with neurodivergent individuals within schools, she brings a wealth of experience and expertise to our team.
In addition to her role in education, Emily is a scout leader, a trained tutor, and is soon to be a dyslexia specialist. Her exceptional experience in working with neurodivergent individuals drives her commitment to ensuring that everyone receives the support
they need.
Emily is known for her ability to listen to the unique needs of each individual she supports, adapting her tutoring methods to meet their specific requirements. She is a fierce advocate for her four children, who have all faced challenges due to their own neurodivergence. This personal experience fuels her dedication to finding the best ways to support those she cares for, both personally and professionally.
Constantly seeking to expand her knowledge, Emily is always researching and gaining insights into everything related to neurodiversity. Her kind and passionate nature, combined with her wicked sense of humour, makes her a beloved member of our community.
Emily runs on a combination of knowledge and coffee, always making time for those who need her and making a brew for them in the process.

Building a community with Jodie was a clear decision due to her exceptional support and invaluable contributions to The Umbrella Effect. Jodie possesses extensive knowledge in neurodivergence, which
she applies with great empathy and compassion. Her ability to make others feel genuinely understood and accepted is widely recognized, both by her neurodivergent children and in her professional life. This same energy and dedication are expected to be brought to The Umbrella Effect.
Jodie has firsthand experience with the challenges of finding suitable school placements for children,making her advice on education, available support, and children’s rights particularly valuable. Her professional and personal experiences have equipped her with the
skills to support families navigating the complexities of school placements and the impact on the entire family.
Jodie’s understanding, friendship, and determination to find solutions are evident in her interactions. Her passion for creating a community where everyone feels understood, accepted, and celebrated is
